Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: The test reacted with all DLV isolates tested. Reaction of the ELISA is moderate strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in arrange of 0.820 - 2.580 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is moderate high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:270-810.
Specificity: There is no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues. Background is relative low on all of the negative control wells.
Application: The test can be used to detect DLV in infected host plants.

Diagnostically susceptible host species and symptoms: Nicotiana megalosiphon, N. benthamiana - symptomless local and systemic infection; Philodendron speciosum, Phaseolus vulgaris cv. The Prince, Vigna unguiculata cv. Blackeye, Datura metel, D. stramonium, Nicotiana clevelandii, N. sylvestris, N. tabacum cv. Dutch A - local symptomless infection only.
