Poinsettia Latent Virus (PnLV) - DAS ELISA Home Products Testing Services Supplies Contact Us
Catalog #: V285
Source Antibody: Rabbit polyclonal antibody for both capture and detection.
Test Format: DAS ELISA
Reactivity: Reaction of the ELISA is strong. Optical Density at 405nm is in a range of 0.900 - 2.500 depending on the virus titer in the samples tested.
Sensitivity: Sensitivity of the ELISA is very high. The virus can be consistently detected in infected plant tissues diluted at 1:270 - 1:2430.
Specificity: This test system has no cross reaction with healthy plant tissues tested. Background is very low on the negative control wells.

Name: Poinsettia Latent Virus
Acronym: PnLV
Genus: Polemovirus
The virus: PnLV is a polemovirus with isometric particle in size of 34 nm in diameter. PnLV was found to be a chimeric virus with one 4652 bases, plus strand RNA showing a close relationship to poleroviruses within the first three quarters of its genome but to sobemoviruses in the last quarter.
Main host plants and Symptoms: PnLV infects poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) plants only showing mild symptoms, or without any symptoms in many infected plants.
Transmission: PnLV virus is possibly transmitted by vegetative propagation and tissue grafting.
Geographical Distribution: The polemovirus PnLV is spread worldwide in cultivated poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) plants without inducing symptom.
